I want to share with you one of my recent skype phone calls with a a team of engineers in Los Angeles. These guys are real “started from the bottom” kind of guys and went from recording for fun in high school to engineering sessions for Kid Cudi, Chief Keef & more.
I skipped the boring basic questions and asked them things that I truly wanted to know as an engineer/producer myself. We covered how useful going to college for recording arts was as well as how they network and meet new clients in LA.
